Associate

Barrister Jean Patrick Musima Bille is an Associate at The Abeng Law Firm in Douala. His work centres on OHADA and CEMAC business law, debt recovery and enforcement, and commercial, administrative and land-related disputes. Working under the supervision of the Managing Partner, Roland Abeng, he contributes to legal analysis, case preparation and the development of arguments and procedural strategies.

Jean Patrick prepares draft pleadings, procedural applications, formal notices, contracts and legal opinions. He assists with enforcement proceedings and challenges to attachments, applications for interim relief, lease and property disputes, and administrative proceedings. His work also includes reviewing bank guarantees, supporting fact-finding and reporting on public-procurement matters, and analysing compliance requirements for crowdfunding projects.

His earlier experience spans independent legal and tax work, law teaching, legal internships in the banking and real-estate sectors, and debt recovery. He holds a Master's degree in International Litigation from the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC), University of Yaoundé II, and a Master 1 in Business Law from the University of Douala. This background informs his work on disputes involving both commercial relationships and regulatory requirements.

Alongside his contentious work, Jean Patrick is developing a focus on digital law, fintech, personal data protection and international investment. His research and publications examine financial and digital regulation in the CEMAC region, including BEAC requirements for fintech businesses and the COSUMAF framework for digital-asset service providers. These interests complement his work on regulatory questions affecting businesses and emerging financial services.
